Rowlett July 4th Fireworks and Music - 2018

Rowlett celebrates 4th of July with Family Fun, Music & Fireworks!! 

Pecan Grove Park (5300 Main St - behind Wet Zone Waterpark) ... Beginning at 6:00 pm

Celebrate Freedom with live music, children/teen/adult activities and the largest fireworks display in Rowlett! There is no admission charge for entry to this hometown celebration. Vendors will also be on site for festival-style foods and crafts. (ATM will be nearby)

*Live Music with "Memphis Soul" kicking it off at 6:00 p.m. and "The Georgia Satellites" from 8:00-9:30 p.m. 

*Activities will include: Bounce Houses, Face Painting, Outdoor Laser Tag, a Cornhole Tournement and more! The Activities will close at 9:00 p.m. to prepare for Fireworks.

*Fireworks Display will start between 9:30 - 9:45 p.m.

*AND don't forget to bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray as you enjoy some good old-fashioned family fun celebrating our amazing Country! 

**Parking & Free Shuttles will be available at Rowlett High School, Herfurth Park, Coyle Middle School and the DART station. Shuttles will run from 5-11p**

March Clean Up Campaign - Rowlett, TX - 2017

That's right City of Rowlett residents, let your Spring Cleaning begin because the City of Rowlett is providing a FREE drop off location & FREE disposal of your unwanted Residential Non Hazardous Bulky Items and Residential Brush (branches, weeds, grass, bushes, ect)! So start trimming those trees & cleaning out your garage and closets!

The FREE "March Clean Up Campaign" will last the whole month of March. The City of Rowlett will have Dumpsters located on 1904 Castle Dr (just east of Rowlett Rd) and will be open daily from 10a-6pm, unless it's raining. 

*Be sure to bring your Drivers License or a Utility Bill to show proof of residence.

Please do NOT bring ... 

• TV's/Computers ... call IESI (972-475-3600) to schedule a pick up
• Automobile Parts, 
• Batteries, 
• Liquids (paint, motor oil, solvents, ect), 
• Chemicals (pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, ect), and/or no 
• Freon or Freon Containing Appliances (ac's, freezers, refrigerators, ect). 
• Dirt, 
• Rocks, or 
• Concrete 

AND don't forget City of Rowlett Residents, you are allowed 2 FREE passes per year to dispose of Household Trash, Bulky Items like furniture, Brush or Wood Waste, and Construction/Demolition Debris at the Hinton Landfill(3175 Elm Grove Rd, Garland). 

To obtain your passes, simply take your Drivers License & Water Bill to either the Public Works Department (4310 Industrial St), Business Office in the Annex Building (4004 Main St), or the City Secretary's Office at City Hall (4000 Main St).

*When you're ready to use your FREE Rowlett Resident Hinton Landfill Pass, be sure to take your Drivers License AND your current Water Bill to show proof of residency.

Family Fall Activities Around Lake Ray Hubbard (City of Rowlett, Rockwall & Wylie)

It’s that time again.  Fall is in the air, pumpkin fields are popping up everywhere and cities around Lake Ray Hubbard are revving up their outdoor activities. 

 

 

November and December will be featuring all kinds of parades, art festivals, Santa photos, and special events for the kiddos. City of Rowlett Library is hosting the last of the Friday night movies on the lawn.  City of Rockwall is having their Halloween Extravaganza at the Harbor on the 25^th.  City of Wylie is hosting the ever fun Boo on Ballard, with zip lining, foam pit and the works.

Exciting Changes for Rowlett TX

There are some exciting changes coming to Rowlett.  Krispy Crème and Neighborhood Walmart have already opened.  Sprouts is coming in the next year or so.  In addition the City of Rowlett is currently starting an amazing project.  Here’s an excerpt from the City’s website: 

“The Village of Rowlett is a $30 million project that will introduce a range of urban densities within five modern housing concepts, local retail and commercial destinations, high quality pedestrian amenities and a unique vibe all our own.  The project will save existing trees while offering a range of green amenities including a community garden, dog park, yoga lawn, bocce ball court, pocket green courts, and urban streetscapes within an urban resort setting.  Planned to offer 225 urban living units, nearly 17,000 feet of activated commercial space, and over 400 parking spaces, the Village of Rowlett is set to forever change the quality and validity of urban development in Downtown.  Downtown Rowlett can and will provide a new kind of village center that combines various land uses, mixed densities, and public venues in a unique and historic transit oriented development setting.”

Watering Restrictions for the City of Rowlett, TX - Spring '14

Spring is here and so is the desire to green up your lawn!

 

 

 

 

But if you live in Rowlett, TX we are still on STAGE 3 Water Restrictions!

 

                                                         

Stage 3 Watering Restrictions means watering is only allowed Once Every 2 Weeks … yes, you read correctly, Once Every 2 Weeks! This watering is based on your physical home address and watering can not be done between 10a-6p. The STAGE 3 Water Restrictions that the City of Rowlett has in place is just for Sprinklers. Hand-Held Hose Watering and/or Soaker Hose Watering with a can be done for up to 2 hours a day for Foundation, Trees, Shrubs and New Landscapes.

However, with the continual rain we’ve been having, the STAGE 3 Water Restrictions might be soon loosened up. Be sure to check occasionally with the City of Rowlett website for updates.  City of Rowlett Water Restrictions

Wow, is it summer already?!
